This approach is how you will convince them to get involved with your cause.<\/p>\n\n<p>Here are some interesting facts about generations X, Y and Z drawn from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.episode.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Episode<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s latest study on philanthropic trends in Quebec:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Generations X, Y, and Z report supporting different causes or organizations each year. They are more volatile donors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are more attracted to challenge-type activities that are adventurous and unique.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are more demanding of organizations, looking for transparency, commitment and communication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Young generations are more focused on immediacy and will be more willing to make a donation if an organization\u2019s communications invite them to become involved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.episode.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Visit the Episode website to download the study and obtain additional interesting data.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n<p>For young professionals, 5 reasons motivate them to get involved with an organization:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They believe in the cause<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It may improve their employment prospects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Their friends volunteer with the cause<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They can be challenged<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By obligation from the employer<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Organizations will certainly have to make significant changes to attract younger generations. Here are suggestions from Espace id\u00e9es.<\/h5>\n\n<p><strong>For your events:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your fundraising activity includes team registrations, encourage student participation and\/or require a minimum number of students per team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider organizing a family activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize visits or an \u201copen house\u201d exclusively dedicated to young people and adapt your content for them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be very active on social media and talk about young people who are already involved with you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adapt your fundraising events by creating different components, including those that encourage youth participation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Host your events in unique places.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present inspiring speakers (professional athletes, cancer survivors, innovative entrepreneurs, etc.). These are very popular with millennials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>For your board and committees:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Propose a bylaw stating that a minimum of 2 people under the age of 45 should be an administrator on your board of directors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plan board meetings in less intimidating, more \u201ccasual\u201d spaces, offer a less formal structure and try to avoid jargon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pair an experienced board member with a new member to act as a mentor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a \u201cnext generation\u201d committee that reports to your board, but that has its own responsibilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a youth organizing committee for fundraising activities targeted for this generation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>For volunteer opportunities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Involve students who must complete volunteer hours as part of their school programs.
